Hello all - second to last day of sign ups!
Please check your email inboxes; there are a couple of sign ups that need to be fixed or adjusted before we can allow full entry into the exchange. Specifically, there has been some confusion this year about pairings that use "/" or "&" as separators.
As a reminder, for "/" pairings, this is a pairing between characters used in an exclusively romantic or sexual way, even if they don't consummate or are in a "Pre-Relationship" stage. All prompts involving romantic feelings (confessions of love, first kiss, marriages, etc.) or smutty situations (including a/b/o or other non/dub-con tropes between two characters who are not otherwise romantically involved) should be fulfilled under / relationships in sign-ups.
"&" pairings should be used for everything else: family relationships, friendly relationships, anything that doesn't involve romance or sexual activity. The goal of a / relationship is always romantic or sexual, even if the fic doesn't always necessarily have a sexual activity: a fic that is simply flirty banter between Dorian and Alistair would still be a / even if it is G-rated, because this still entails romantic feelings. On the other hand, a fic with Dorian & Alistair making friendly (but not flirty) banter would fall under &.
We know this distinction can be confusing; if anyone has any questions, feel free to send us an email at blackemporiumexchange@gmail.com or send us an ask at our tumblr inbox.
If we don’t hear back re: the sign-ups we’ve sent out emails, we’ll be forced to delete those sign-ups in order to run matching so please make sure to check your Ao3 inboxes!
